Rules and General Information

The land that  High Newport Allotments are situated on is leased from Sunderland City Council we are using the rules that they recommend
The management committee is elected by the members of the society at the AGM
The management of the allotments shall be vested solely by the committee
The committee has the right to enter and inspect any garden and advise the owner what needs doing
Members are requested to ask for permission to erect any buildings on their garden no caravans allowed on site
Any member wanting hens or pigeons on site must have permission no dogs or cats to be kept on site
Cabin fires are allowed open garden fires are not allowed this is a Sunderland council rule as there have been numerous complaints from the local residents 
Hosepipes only to be used to water plants growing in greenhouses
Storage of dangerous chemicals is not allowed gas bottles should be kept outside of the cabin or greenhouse 
Any member can share their garden with a family member or friend
Any member deciding he or she does not want their garden can only sell the buildings on the allotment and not the actual allotment
It is the member's responsibility to close the allotments main gates if they are the last ones to leave and also to know the code for the combination locks 
It is the member's responsibility to keep the front of their gardens neat and tidy
